Coronavirus - What you need to know

On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern regarding the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).  On March 11, 2020 WHO made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic.  

In the words of Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General “We’re in this together, to do the right things with calm and protect the citizens of the world. It’s doable”.

If you are travelling: 

• While you are away, and when you return, it is important to monitor your health. If you become sick upon your return, call your local Public Health Authority for further instructions.
• Avoid spending time in large crowds or crowded areas 
• If you have traveled, you can reduce the risk of spreading infection by following prevention measures when returning to home

Symptoms: Reported signs and symptoms include: fever, coughing, difficulty breathing, and/or pneumonia in both lungs.
